Born in Hong Kong and received her education in New Zealand, Penney had a career as a Chartered Accountant in Australia and Hong Kong at multi-national firms which most people would dream of.


However, from 2008, Penney decided to attend various bakery and sugar craft courses in Hong Kong, United Kingdom and Australia to embark on her journey of handcrafting wedding cakes, and has never looked back.

Penney is passionate about creating couture cakes, and opened her own studio PENNEY PANG Designer Cakes in 2013.  As one of Hong Kong's leading cake designers, PENNEY PANG Designer Cakes provides some of the most exquisite cakes in town.  Her signature sugar or handcrafted flowers have won several medals in professional competitions around the globe, in particular at highly regarded International Exhibition run by the British Sugarcraft Guild.  Penney was also nominated as “Sugar Flower Artist” in 2016 at Britain’s Cake Masters Magazine Awards, which is known as a “Cake Oscars” event within the industry, attended by the best sugar crafters around the globe.  Furthermore, Penney was invited as one of six international judges at Cake Designer World Championship 2019, which was held at Milan – Italy.
